My husband Jonathan and I live in Texas. We met at a church building in our teen years and started a relationship a couple of years later. We've been happily married for 14 years and have two daughters. We are grateful that God gave us a spirit to create and are so blessed to share works of art with you.
When I first became pregnant, I was so excited to shop for my baby girl. I saw a lot of things that I liked, but they were not customized in the way that I preferred. With a little vision, I decided to try to recreate some items on my own to get something tailor-made for our sweet baby. I started sewing burp cloths and quilts, painting and appliqueing shirts, decoupaging paper onto wooden letters, monogramming sippy cups with vinyl, and painting canvases.
I wrote baby craft tutorials on my blog and sold a few items through that and needed a business name. I was blessed to grow up on the mission field in Brazil, and Jonathan became an apprentice missionary in Portugal after we met. We both have a love for the beautiful Portuguese language. Thus, we decided on Feita Bonita to describe my creations. Feita Bonita means "made beautifully."
Jonathan also learned woodworking to build things for our family. He's made tables, dollhouses, beds, and desks for our daughters. As I was designing some artwork for our house, I couldn't find a good sized canvas. He talked about building our own canvases, and then we landed on making customized wood boards.
Now that our daughters are both in school part-time, I have more time to create. We love designing, cutting, and painting. Every piece is such a blessing. We'd be so happy to share with you a piece of art made beautifully.
